WordPressで自作のテーマを作る時に必要なファイルは三個だけ。
index.php と style.css、それから絶対に必要ではないけど screenshot.jpg か png (300×225)の三個のファイル。

index.php は、空でOK！　cssファイルは、テーマに関する情報を先頭に書いておく事。
例えば、Twenty Thirteen　のcssファイルの先頭部分には、下のように記載があります。

テーマを作るのに、全部が必要なわけではなりません。このブログでは、

とだけ記入しています。これだけでも、テーマとして機能してくれます。

画像が使われているのは、「外観」の中の「テーマ」。

画像はあってもなくても可。ないと寂しい・・・くらいで良いかもです。

以上三つのファイルを「wdwblog」（名前は任意）というフォルダを作って、WordPress の Theme に入れればいいだけ。
